Microgrids are self-sufficient energy systems serving a specific building, campus, or district. They use intelligent software controllers to match real-time energy supply and demand. Microgrids can operate in parallel with the local utility but often have the ability to ‘island’ during grid outages.
We pioneered this cost-effective way of introducing low-carbon geothermal heating and cooling into our clients’ buildings with our UK company in the early 2000s and have been at the technology’s forefront ever since. Members of our expert team lecture around the world, and have been involved in hundreds of projects, including some of the largest ever geothermal installations.
Endurant has significant expertise permitting and building fuel cells – we are a Bloom Energy fuel cell engineering and installation partner. We also offer turnkey funded Energy-as-a-Service packages. Because they provide reliable lower-carbon power, fuel cells lend themselves to integration into microgrids and have strong standalone use cases.
